Asylum Seeker Assistance Program (ASAP)

The Asylum Seeker Assistance Program (ASAP) is open to any asylum seeker needing help accessing the following services:

• Work permit clinic:
  • 1st application: come to Hope House
  • renewal: contact Mariam (mariam@hopeacts.org) or phone: 207-420-0021 (call/text/whatsapp)
• Housing Education and Assistance: Tuesdays 11am-3pm and Fridays by appointment only at Hope House.
• Asylum Application Resource Center (AARC): at Portland Public Library
  • by appointment only, Thursday 10:30am-3pm and Friday 10:30am-1pm
  • contact Mathurin (mathurin@hopeacts.org) or phone 207-274-6005 (office)
• Other walk-in services at Hope House, for example:
  • Address changes,
  • DHHS, Free Care applications,
  • Understanding bills and other mail

ASAP hours at Hope House are Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 11:00am to 3:00pm, and by appointment.
